On Dec 19 2018, the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence, an independent group of 52 experts representing academia, industry, and civil society appointed by the European Commission in June 2018, released the first draft of its Ethics Guidelines for the development and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The aim of the document is to set out how developers and users can make sure AI respects fundamental rights, applicable regulation and core principles, and how the technology can be made technically robust and reliable.
The draft Ethics Guidelines are open for comments until February 1, 2019. Feedback on the draft ethics guidelines for trustworthy AI can be given through on the AI stakeholder consultation form, available from the European AI Alliance platform, the EU’s multi-stakeholder platform on AI.
The Expert Group the expert group will present their final guidelines to the Commission in March 2019.
