This white paper is based on Deliverable D4.1 of the e-SIDES project, which provides a gap analysis based on the findings related to the key ethical, legal, societal and economic issues emerging from the use of big data and the assessment of existing privacy-preserving technologies. In this white paper we look at their effectiveness in addressing those ethical and societal issues and the challenges that arise in their implementation.
